Members of the Brainerd Chapter of the Wild Ones will be leading native plant discovery walks at the Northland Arboretum.
 
What to Expect:  Each walk will include a 5-10 minute presentation about what we will expect to see that evening on our hike, including the plant habitats grown and the key features to look for.  Members will then hit the trail (or off trail) for an interactive hike to identify and collect species for the arboretum native plant herbarium.  After the hike we will ID and press the plants collected.
 
What to wear:  Hiking shoes & dress for the weather.  We will hike rain or shine.
 
What to bring:  A small pack for water bottle, light snack (some nuts or an apple), gloves, plant key
 
Wild Ones promote environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities.

Event is free and open to the public.
